[Classic Kpop] COOL (쿨) _ 슬퍼지려 하기전에 (Before Sadness Comes)
COOL is one of the notable co-ed group of the 1990’s that many still love today. COOL mainly focuses on dance tracks, but they did succeed adventuring other genres. They started out originally as a four member group with the members Kim Sungsoo (김성수), Lee Jaehoon (이재훈), Yoo Chaeyoung (유채영), and Choi Joonmyung (최준명). However, starting from their second album, Yoo Chaeyoung and Choi Joonmyung left the group and Yuri joined, thus creating a trio (two males, one female). COOL was believed to disband soon after, but after releasing 10 albums with many hit songs, many acknowledge the legacy they have brought to the Korean music industry. COOL announced their disbandment in 2005, yet in 2008, they came back together to release their 10.5th album and their summer 11th album in 2009. With recent events such as the program “Hidden Singer” and “Infinity Challenge”, many were able to see COOL’s revival as well.

‘슬퍼지려 하기전에’ (Before Sadness Comes) is from their 2nd album “Love Is…Waiting” and is one of COOL’s representative songs. It is an upbeat track with trademark choreography that tells a story of a man sending his love away before he feels regret.
FUN FACT: Jung Junha, one of Korea’s known entertainers, was once COOL’s manager.
